Brief Bio
Dr. Markus Helfert is Director of the Business Informatics Group at Dublin City University, and a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at the School of Computing, Dublin City University (Ireland). He is senior academic at Lero - The Irish Software Research Centre. He is a research affiliate at The Open Government Institute at Zeppelin University in Germany. His research interests include Information Management, Innovation, Cloud Computing, Service Science, Enterprise Architecture and Open Data and Smart Cities. Currently he advises several small and medium sized Enter prise in rela ion to Innovation and IT Management. Markus Helfert has authored more than 200+ academic articles, journal and book contributions and has presented his work at international conferences. He is member of international programme committees and reviewer and associate editor of several IS journals. Dr. Helfert has received national and international grants from agencies such as European Union (FP7; H2020), Science Foundation Ireland and Enterprise Ireland. Prior to his appointment at Dublin City University, he held a research position at the Institute of Information Management at the University of St. Gallen. Dr. Helfert holds a PhD from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), an MSc from the University of Mannheim (Germany) and a BSc from Napier University in Scotland (UK). ... More >>

Cornel Klein is Software Architect and Project Manager for the Technology & Innovation Project “eCar” at Siemens Corporate Technologies in Munich. He is project manager and coordinator for RACE (Robust and reliable Automotive Computing Environment for future eCars) which aims at the development of an advanced automotive E/E architecture. In various positions at Siemens, he has been responsible for software technologies and SW based innovations. Starting his career 1998 at Siemens Public Networks, he has gained an extensive knowledge in communication networks, embedded systems, IT platforms and SW architecture as well as in application domains like eCars and smart environments. He holds a master and a PhD degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich.

Brian Donnellan is Professor of Information Systems Innovation at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth (NUIM) and Co-Director of the Innovation Value Institute. Prior to joining NUIM he was a faculty member in the Cairnes Postgraduate School of Business and Public Policy in the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). His teaching and research interests lie primarily in the area of innovation systems, which encompasses innovation, new product development, Sustainable ICT and IT management. Catarina Selada is the Head of Cities Department at INTELI - Intelligence in Innovation, Innovation Centre, located in Lisbon, Portugal. She has been working in several European and national projects on urban development, with a specific focus on smart cities. She is coordinator of the RENER Living Lab - Portuguese Smart Cities Network, composed of 43 municipalities, and responsible for the collaborative platform Smart Cities Portugal. She was also involved in the development of the Smart City Index 2020, which was applied to 20 municipalities in Portugal. She is member of the Adviso y Board of Creative Brazil Foundation, Brazil and the representative of INTELI in the European Interest Group on Creativity and Innovation, Germany and in the ENoLL - European Network of Living Labs. She received a degree in Economics and a master degree in Science and Technology Management from the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal.
